The core of sense of nativeness is national and cultural consciousness whose psychological source can be traced back to Jung's collective unconscious. It is a fixed way of thinking both the writer and the reader have. Bringing the sense of nativeness into the study of foreign literature can widen our vision of foreign literature appreciation. Sense of nativeness is also an orientation of values. This approach of foreign literature study focuses on macroscopic handling of the literary work and it will finally lead to cultural tolerance and cultural blending.
