摘要
研究发现导致12芯光纤带延迟失真的原因有光纤带中各光纤的折射率差、光纤矩阵排列的错位以及光纤中的残余应力,为此开发出一种低延迟失真的新型12芯光纤带,其单模光纤带的延迟失真达0.259ps/m,多模光纤带的延迟失真达0.375ps/m。采用此光纤带研制的288芯骨架槽结构的单模光纤带光缆的延迟失真仅为0.520ps/m。
Low skew ribbon cable necessary for parallel optical transmission is developed. The cable has 288-fiber slotted rod design and 12-fiber ribbons are used. Through investigation the causes of skew in 12-fiber ribbons, which are the difference in refractive index between individual fibers, dislocation of the fiber array arrangement and the residual stress among the fibers in the ribbon, are found. A prototype 12-fiber ribbon with low skew is developed, the skew is 0.259 ps/m for SM fibers and 0.375 ps/m for MM fibers. The 288-fiber slotted rod cable made of this 12-fiber ribbons exhibits only a skew value of 0.520 ps/m.
