This article analyses the relationship between technical development a nd the geographical position in diff erent countries during ancient and modern times.Upon such a n analysis it concludes that many factors may affect technical developme nt ,but the geographical position is also one of great importa nce.Therefore,to combine technica l development with the geographical position and other factors will help us fully understand the factors affecting technical development as well as effectively use geographica l advantages to promote economic development.
