On Relationship between the Patriotic Complex and the Socialistic Complex of Deng Xiaoping—in Terms of Value Reason and Instrument Reason

邓小平自始至终把国家利益和人民利益置于价值理性的地位,把对社会主义和马克思主义的信仰视为实现富民强国的手段和工具,它们处于工具理性的层次。由此我们引申出一个重要的结论:国家利益高于意识形态,对于实现富民强国的目标来讲,任何主义、思想都应该处于工具理性的地位。

Deng Xiao-ping always places the benefits of the country and the people on the postion of value reason.He regards his belief in socialism and Marxism as a means to make people rich and the country powerful,which is on the level of instrument reason.Therefore,we draw an important conclusion that national benefit is above ideology.Any doctrine should be on the position of instrument reason in terms of the goal to make people rich and the country powerful.
