江泽民同志在党的十六大上强调必须把弘扬和培育民族精神作为文化建设极为重要的任务,纳入国民教育全过程。高校作为培养人才的重要基地应大力弘扬和培育民族精神。文章简述了民族精神的基本内涵,阐明了在青年大学生中弘扬和培育民族精神的重要意义,并提出了相应的对策、建议。

In the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Comrade JiangZe-min emphasized that carrying forward and cultivating the national spirit must be regarded as a very important task of the culture construction and be brought into the whole process of the national education. As the important base of talent cultivation, institution of higher learning should carry forward and cultivate the national spirit strongly. This article expounds briefly the basic connotation of the national spirit, explains the important significance of carrying forward and cultivating the national spirit for the young college students, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
