Comments on the theory of mining method adopted for shallow tunnels

王梦恕院士在多年工程实践和理论研究的基础上,著成我国第一部全面系统论述“浅埋暗挖法”理论、设计、施工的专著———《地下工程浅埋暗挖技术通论》,对浅埋暗挖技术的理论基础、工程理念、设计与施工方法进行了全面论述。浅埋暗挖设计理论其创新点可以概括为:隧道埋深的界定及荷载计算、隧道断面型式确定、邻近地下工程及其穿越方式、断面衬砌设计、结构防水设计、结构设计计算、预支护设计及网构钢拱架设计,并提出了浅埋暗挖法理论设计原则,形成了一套完整的浅埋、超浅埋隧道与地下工程设计、施工理论体系。

On the basis of long-term engineering practice and theoretical researches, Mr. Wang Meng-shu, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, has fulfilled the first comprehensive book on the theory, designand construction of 'Mining method adopted for shallow underground works ', which gives a comprehensive description of the theoretical basis, engineering concept, design and construction method for the technology of mining method adopted for shallow underground works. The innovations of this theory can be summarized as follows: to classify the tunnels as deep or shallow according to their overburdens and to calculate the loads; to determine the cross-sections of the tunnels; to take measures to pass through underneath the adjacent underground facilities; to design the tunnel linings; to design the waterproofing; to perform the structural design; to design the primary support; to design the lattice girders. It also puts forward the principles for the mining method adopted for shallow tunnels and thus forms a complete theoretical system for the design and construction of tunnels and underground works with shallow overburdens or super-shallow overburdens.
