A Summary of the Studies of XU Kun's Novels

徐坤以90年代知识分子和城市女性生活为题材的小说,引起了评论界的关注,评论的热点集中于她对知识分子精英形象的批判解构的后现代性质,并对此类题材作品呈现的反讽、调侃、幽默的语言风格予以肯定;对她90年代中期以后的女性题材创作,多肯定其对城市女性的生存和精神困境体现出的人文关怀,而对此类题材呈现出的诗意温婉的语言风格褒贬不一。

XU Kun's novels which are characterized with the genre of intellectual's and urban woman's life during 1990s have drawn a lot of attention from commentators. All the comments focus on the post-modern quality of her criticism and analysis with regard to the elite image of intellectuals and also affirm her ironic, mocking, and humorous language style shown in such genres. As far as her creation of female genre after the middle 1990s, most of the comments affirm her humane concern over the urban women's living and spiritual predicament, but hold different attitudes towards her poetic and mild language style shown in such genre.
