反语的语用和认知研究

Grice、Searle和Leech提出的传统语用模式以及Sperber和Wilson提出的回应理论是20世纪70年代以来有较大影响的反语研究方法。他们从语用和认知的角度审视反语,为反语研究提供了新的途径。本文首先阐述这两种反语理论,然后对它们对比分析,指出传统语用模式的不足,认为从认知语用角度关注反语的回应理论更令人信服,更具解释力。

Abstrace:The traditional pragmatic model proposed by Grice、Searle and Leech and the echoic interpretation theory proposed by Sperber and Wilson are two influential approaches to irony since the 1970s.They provide alternatives to the study of irony.This paper first sketches out the two approaches to irony and reveals the weak points mainly with the pragmatic model.After making analyses, this paper finally points out that the echoic interpretation theory,which looks at irony from a cognitive pragmatic perspective,is more con vincing and explanatorily more powerful.
