The Environmental Morality in Ancient China with Harmonious Relation between Heaven and Human Being

环境道德是调整人与环境的关系、规范人对自然的行为的道德。中国传统伦理思想中萌生和蕴含了丰富而深刻的环境道德思想;我国"天人合一"学说认为自然万物之间具有和谐统一的关系,应该说这种关系的本身就是生态学上的概念,因而早在古代就已形成朴素生态学和重视生态和谐的思想,这是中国传统环境道德的根本观点和理论基础。我们应当继承和发扬我国优秀传统文化,使之与具有时代特征的现代内容相整合,提高环境意识,以利于我国可持续发展战略和环境保护基本国策,加强社会主义现代化建设,创建21世纪的绿色文明。

The environmental morality is the one to adjust the relation between human being and the environment and regulate human being's behavior towards nature. The Chinese traditional ethic thought has embodied rich and profound environment morality. The doctrine of 'heaven and human being into one' suggests that everything in nature is of a relation of harmony and unity. It is bold enough to say that such concept itself is a ecological one. Thus, the thought of plain ecology and emphasis on a harmonious ecology, which was the fundamental viewpoint and the theoretical basis for Chinese traditional environmental morality, was established in ancient China. We should inherit and develop Chinese best traditional culture, integrate it with modern contents of the times characteristics and improve the environment awareness, so as to push forward the strategy of sustainable development and the fundamental national policy of protecting the environment, enhance the socialist modernization drive and build the 21st green civilization.
