陈独秀作为新文化运动的倡导者 ,给后人留下了丰厚的精神财富 ,民主宪政是其中最为宝贵的一部分。陈独秀认为国家是一种偶像 ,随人们的认识在变化 ,主权是其核心 ;改造原有的国民劣根性 ,是建立民主国家的前提 ;建立民主国家 ,要走俄国式的革命道路 ,进行彻底的无产阶级革命。陈独秀宪政思想的主要特点是 :根本改造 ,求新择优。

As an advocate of New Culture Movement,Chen Duxiu has offered abundant spiritual fortunes among which democracy is the most valuable to posterity.He thought that nation was an uninterrupted mutative icon and sovereignty of the core of nationality. The national intrtnsic shortcoming was the precondition of building a democratic nation,and a democratic nation should be built by a thorough proletarian revolution as Russia had done.The characteristics of Chen’s constitutional government thoughts were a thorough reconstruction and a ceaseless choosing the best.They embodied the characteristic of a jacobinical thinkers.
