On the Characteristic of Restraining Commercein the Law of the Ming and Qing Dynasties

中国在16世纪中叶,从封建社会母体内诞生了资本主义萌芽。而明清统治者推行的"抑商"政策及其派生的相关法律制度,却严重阻碍了商品经济的发展,摧残了资本主义萌芽,造成中国社会发展的长期停滞。

The seeds of capitalism sprouted up in the feudal society of China in the middle 16th Century.However,the policy of restraining commerce and the consequent legal system in the Ming and Qing Dynasties destroyed the capitalism seeds and greatly prevented development of commodity economy as well as feudal society.
