Crowds, or large concentration of people, occur frequently in modern society in venues where major sporting, entertainment take place. This paper discusses the causes of crowd crushes which result in injuries and fatalities, propose the methodology of qualitative risk assessment for the public venue of large gatherings of people; some details of the methodology are described.
