Mao Zedong held different attitudes towards intellectuals during his whole life, which significamly changed the destiny of the age of intellectuals and brought about far-reaching influence upon Chinese revolution and construction. This paper is analyzing the origin of Mao Zedong's attitudes changing in the respects of class identity, cultural tradition and individual temperament, so as to offer a little of enlightemnent for building a well-off society in an all-round way in the era of knowledge-based economy.
