Cultural explanation of "The Drunken Boat"

普罗米修斯般的诗人兰波(ArthurRimbaud)十七岁时的诗作《醉舟》作为前期象征派的代表作影响深远。它采用传统的亚历山大律,用年轻的幻想在诗歌中经历着一番风暴,乘着醉舟驶向未知的乐园。把诗中"舟"与"海"的意向从文化角度进行阐释,可以看出诗人对西方文明的态度,从而更全面地理解诗作和"通灵者"兰波。

'The Drunken Boat' which was written by Arthur Rimbaud when he was seventeen years old has a farreaching influence. Using Alexandrine rhythm and admirable fantasy in the poem, the young poet bears up for an unknown paradise by a drunken boat. Explaining the 'boat' and the 'sea' in cultural view, we can see the poet's attitude towards western culture and then understand Arthur Rimbaud in the round. 
