Readers’Active Construction and Understanding of The Golden Notebook

《金色笔记》是英国当代著名女作家多丽丝·莱辛的代表作,它以主人公所写的五本笔记和一部小说中的故事《自由女性》为主体,其复杂的叙述结构、跳跃的时空转换、变化重合的人物角色及重叠交错的部分内容等模式彻底打破了传统小说读者的阅读期待,改变了读者被动舒适的阅读习惯,使读者不得不积极地参与作品的阅读过程,重新建构作品本体。

The Golden Notebook is the representative work of Doris lessing's, a noted contemporary British female writer. It is composed of five notebooks and a novel inside the novel - Free Women-written by the protagonist. Readers' expectations in reading traditional novels are completely broken in it by its complex narrative structure, its intersecting time-space exchange, some same while different characters and its partly overlapping content. The novel changes readers' passive and comfortable reading habits and readers thus have to actively participate in reading so as to reconstruct the novel.
