Yan Yuan was a well-known educator,thinker and philosopher.Because of his complicated life experience,few researchers have made a detailed and complete study,with the regult that the introduction to him was insuffcient,even faulty.Moreover,his formation of academic thinking was hardly traced from the respect of his personality.This paper,therefore,makes an inquiry into his family and life experience in an attempt to have a good understanding of this well-known figure.
