Ambiguities Arising from Homonyms

通过对汉语同音引发的歧义现象的分析,认为语音偶合仅是致歧的表层原因,而其深层原因是词汇、语法对某一音节意义的非制约性,致使特定句子中的某个音节可以有两个以上读音皆可通,或一个语音形式可以理解为代表完全不同的两个以上的词语,从而使句子的意义发生了根本性的变化。

Ambiguities arising from homonyms in the Chinese language are analyzed in this paper. It is held that the occurrence of homonyms is the superficial reason for the arising of ambiguities. Its deep reason can be attributed to the non-restrictiveness of words and grammar, which causes the occurrence of homonym and polysemy and fundamental changes in the meaning of the sentence.
