南明著名的爱国使臣左懋第宁死不辱使命,于顺治二年(1645 年)被清廷杀害,壮烈殉国,成为一位堪与南宋文天祥比肩的民族英雄。可是关于左懋第史事的一些文献记载多有讹误。有必要依据有关行状、墓志及其他有关文献资料,对关于左懋第史事的一些错误记载进行纠谬辨正。

Zuo Maodi, a famous patriotic envoy in the South Ming Dynasty,would rather die than bring disgrace to the country.He was murdered by Imperial Palace of Qing Dynasty in the second year of Shunzhi (1645 DC), and gave his life for his country bravely and noble-mindedly. He became a national hero,with the same fame of Wen Tianxiang in the Southern Song Dynasty. But lots of documents about Zuo Maodi’s historical events have errors. This text,which based on relevant biographic data, epitaph and other relevant documents and materials, discriminates and corrects some mistakes about Zuo Maodi's historical evens.
