R·夸克等四位学者合著的AGrammarofContemporaryEnglish(1972)中所采用的“转换关系”的概念,在他们的AComprehensiveGrammaroftheEnglishLanguage(1985)中改用“系统对应说”。后者是在前者的基础上发展起来的,改换术语名称有着重要的意义。
The notion of transformational relations adopted by Randolph Quirk and his associates in their joint work A Grammar of Contemporary English (1972) is changed to that of systematic correspondences in their later work A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language (1985) .Transformational relations is evolved into systematic correspondences. The change of the terms is of very significance.
