J2ME, the abbreviation of 'Java 2 Micro Edition', presented by Sun Microsystem Co.,is a kind of wireless devices applications programming platform. The J2ME platform has the qualities such as portability, security etc. The paper describes the architecture and core concepts such as CLDC, MIDP and MIDlet, which is in connection with Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition. Finally, an application example is presented to show how to develop wireless application based on J2ME platform.
