A nationwide authoritative testing system, CET-4 or CET-6 is popularly recognized and considered as the best way to test English major's abilities in higher vocational colleges. Meanwhile, the ultimate aim of English teaching is for students to improve their English practical abilities. It is necessary and feasible to combine the test with the improvement of students'abilities and doing so will have far-reaching implications on English teaching's reform as well as improvement.
