Multi-Wire Proportional Chamber (MWPC) as a useful detector has been used inMossbauer spectroscopy not only on the transmissive mode for gamma-ray measurement, butalso on the backscattoring mode for conversion electron measurement. In this paper,the construction and characteristics of the multi-wire chamber are described in derail. Because everywire hss a signal output, these Signals are connected with a multi-channel data acquisitionand processing system which is controlled by a microcomputor. This arrangement has the advantages of high geometrical effiCiency and could obtain information simultaneously fromseveral different directions in order to investigste the structure of a sample in the surfacebackscattering mode.
