清代小说研究之所以能在2 0世纪取得重大成就,与前5 0年学界一大批为发掘、整理“新材料”的学者们的辛勤劳作密切相关。尽管这5 0年中并未见一部独立的清代小说史料学的专著,但在相关的中国古代文学目录学著作中,我们仍能感受到学界为清代小说史料学的建构所做的不懈努力。

Great successes in the study of novels in Qing Dynasty have been achieved in the 20th century due to the diligence and efforts made by a large number of scholars in exploring and sorting out “new materials' during the first half of that century. Though we haven't found an independent book specialized in the study of historical materials of the novels in Qing Dynasty at that time, but in the bibliographical books concerning Chinese ancient literature, we can still feel the everlasting efforts made by those intellectuals in the structural study of the historical materials of novels in Qing Dynasty.
