关于刘杳之母的卒年问题——答朱文民先生商榷之一

朱文民先生对拙文《刘勰卒年新考》据《梁书·刘杳传》“天监十七年,自居母忧”等记载,所推出的刘杳是在普通二年(521年)开始兼任东宫通事舍人和刘勰卒于普通四、五年间(523—524年)的结论提出了异议,他认为“天监十七年,自居母忧”的记载与实不符,但从他所举的理由来看,却并不能证明这一句的记载与实不符。因此,拙文的结论并无不妥。

MrZhu Wenmin demur to my point of view that Liu Yao occupied in the year of 521. And Liu Xie died in the year of 523-524 according to 'The Biography of Liu Yao'. He considers it not true that Liu Yao's Mothe died in the year of 518. But his excuse cannot prove the record not agree with the fact. So my conclusion was out of ill-considered..
