汉初教育思想是丰富的,思想家们在教育的作用、教学的内容、教学的方法、君主教育等方面均提出了自己的主张,具有鲜明的时代特色。通过汉初思想家不懈的努力,使统治者逐渐认识到,要使政权长治久安就不能专任刑罚,必须重视礼义教化的作用,从而采取了一些有利于文化教育发展的措施。
