The exchange rate choice theory and the East Asia′s money cooperation

理论和实践都已证明,对于一个较大的具有紧密经济联系的区域而言,建立一种稳定的区域汇率制度安排,是减少外部冲击危害,促进内部紧密合作,保证经济稳定增长的重要手段.东亚经济合作与发展已对区域货币合作提出了现实要求,根据东亚经济货币合作的现实特点,应遵循渐进主义理念,建立区域内国际经济政策协调机制、改革区域内汇率制度安排和构建货币联盟,最终实现区域货币一体化.

It has been testified both by theory and practice that as far as a large region with close economyic connection is concerned,setting up a steady regional exchange rate system is the important means of reducing exterior impact,of promoting interior cooperation and of ensuring the stability of economy.This development of East Asia′s cooperation requires regional money integration.This article points out that to establish the money integration in East Asia,following the idea of gradualism,we need to do three things,namely,set up a policy-coordinating mechanism of regional international economic policy, reform the exchange rate system and construct money union.
