Thought of stylistic rhetoric in "Wen Xin Diao Long"

刘勰文论体系中,《情采》五篇论文体构成,《比兴》五篇论文体修辞,两者之间为五体五用关系。刘勰的文体修辞思想具有以篇章结构为主而兼及章句结构的总体特色。前者意味着文体创作方法,后者意味着语用修词。两者之间的理论、实践之源流关系不应倒置。

In the system of Liu Xie's written discourse, five articles of Qing Cai on stylistic composing and five articles of Bi Xing on stylistic rhetoric have formed five kinds of styles and usages. Liu Xie's thought of stylistic rhetoric has an overall characteristic of the structure of both chapters and sections, of which the former indicates stylistic creation, and the latter indicates pragmatics. The theory between the two, and the relation between source and course of practice should not be inverted.
