努力构建社会主义和谐社会

Striving to Build a Harmonious Socialist Society

本文从理论与实践的不同角度,对构建社会主义和谐社会这一课题做了初步探讨。文章在借鉴国内外既有研究的基础上指出,应从经济、社会、政治、法制、文化等多种层面来理解建设和谐社会的要点。文章又围绕阶级与阶层结构、城乡与区域结构、人口与就业结构、社会组织结构等方面的变化,检视了中国所面临的新的形势和新的挑战。文章指出,应当特别重视经济与社会之间、政府与社会之间、不同利益群体之间以及公平与效率之间关系的协调问题。最后,文章对构建社会主义和谐社会提出了政策建议。

This paper offers a preliminary exploration from the perspective of theory and practice of the construction of a harmonious socialist society. Drawing from previous domestic and overseas studies, it points out that a harmonious society should be constructed in various dimensions, including the economy, society, politics, the legal system and culture. China is now faced with a new situation and new challenges, in terms of the structure of class and strata, of rural and urban areas, of population and employment, and of social organization. Particular attention should be given to coordinating relations between the economy and society, government and civil society, justice and efficiency, and among various interest groups. The paper concludes with some policy proposals in relation to the construction of a harmonious socialist society in China.
