哈尔克山北坡原定上志留统阿克牙子组角闪岩相变质岩系可能为早元古代地层，构成伊宁—中天山板块的基底；上志留统穹库什太组则为由绿片岩、蓝片岩及少量大理岩化灰岩透镜体、蛇绿岩推覆岩片构成的“变质俯冲杂岩（变质混杂岩）”组合。
The amphibolite facies metamorphic rocks of the Upper Silurian Mountains are possibly ofEarly Proterozoic age,making up the basement of the Yining-central Tianshan plate. The UpperSilurian Qiongkushitai Formation is a ' metamorphosed subduction complex' (metamorphosedmelange)composed of greenschist,blueschist and minor marbleized limestone lenses and ophiolitenappe slabs.
