Endothelial cells of blood vessel play an important role in anti-atherosclerosis, antithrombosis, thrombolysis and vessel dilation. Antioxidants can protect endothelial cells. The new approach of regulating endothelial functions is so-called biomechanopharmacology, i. e., controlling biomechanical forces at appropriate levels to maintain normal endothelial functions and healthy circulation.
