党的十六大把发展社会主义民主政治,建设社会主义政治文明,确定为我国社会主义现代化建设和全面建设小康社会的重要目标,这是对邓小平理论的深化和发展。我们应当在正确理解社会主义政治文明的根本点的基础上,认识建设社会主义政治文明的重要性,积极稳妥地推进社会主义政治文明建设。

The Communist Party of China’s 16th national representative committee put it as one of the most important aims to develop socialist democratic politics and to construct socialist political civilization during the progress of our nation's socialist modernization and all-around construction of a well-fare society. This aim is further deepening and developing of Deng Xiao-ping Theory. We should make sense the importance of constructing the civilization on the basis of understanding its fundamental points of socialist politics, and thus steadily and actively further develop it.
