摘要
围绕着《我弥留之际》究竟是史诗、悲剧还是喜剧有许多争议。本文认为《我弥留之际》是对史诗模式的戏仿。通过戏仿造成的荒诞效果,福克纳对文学传统中的典型形象进行了大胆的消解,以表现在失去传统价值观之后资本主义社会生活的分崩离析和支离破碎,揭示了在失去理性的时代里人们心中的种种喧嚣与骚动,并对现代人身上的畸形和病态进行了无情的嘲讽。
There are arguments about whether As I Lay Dying is an epic, tragedy or comedy. This paper holds that As I Lay Dying is a parody of the mode of epic. The employment of parody bestows a stroke of absurdity to the novel. With parody as a tool, Faulkner has deconstructed the traditional literary image so as to present the reader a fragmented modern social life, and revealed the ridiculousness and morbidity of the human beings in an absurd society.
