摘要
语音隐喻这一术语是国外学者F幃nagy于1999年提出的,但他对这一现象的论述主要限于语音(包括发音方式)和所表意义之间象似关系作出的。另外,到目前为止尚未见国内学者对语音隐喻作过全面和系统的论述。本文则在F幃nagy论述的基础上,结合英语词汇学的有关观点,严格基于隐喻的定义“用一个概念域来跨域喻说另一个概念域”,对英语和汉语中语音隐喻作一初步分类和论述,以引起国内学者对这一现象的关注。
The term “phonetic metaphor” was initiated by Fónagy in 1999, but he only defined his account from the viewpoint of the iconic relationship between sound (acoustic ways) and meaning,and it has not been taken into systematic research by any domestic scholars. Thus, this paper,based on Fónagy, some ideas from lexicology, and the strict definition of metaphor “to say one domain in terms of another”, attempts to offer a primary explanation of various kinds of phonetic metaphors both in English and Chinese, in the hope that the scholars at home will pay more attention to this phenomenon .
