Critique on Classicism of Literature——Reply Simultaneously to Mr. Ge Sheng

人类迄今为止的文学史,在总体上和本质上是一部经典文学历史。以经典为特征而组织起来的经典文学社会和经典文学时代,大体上是到20世纪的90年代中期才基本结束。也正是从90年代中期开始,人类社会的文学开始步入了后文学时代。对于这样一个时代而言,在经典文学时代里所形成和铸就的文学理论、文学批评观念,已经基本丧失了阐释功能和价值。必须重新思考对文学和文学史的理论理解,必须重新思考我们对经典文学的依恋情结。

The history of literature up to now is history of classic literature in nature. Until the middle of 1990s,the classic literature society and classic literature era ended basically,which was organized with the character of classicality. It is just the time that the literature began to come into post-literature society. Faced the new society,literary theories and the opinion of literary criticism which long-term “funding” in classic literature era has already been deprived of value and function of interpretation. Therefore,we must consider theoretic comprehension to literature and history of literature again,must consider our attaching emotion to classic literature again.
