A Contrastive Analysis of the Characteristics of Doing Scholarly Research and Relationships among the Hui Branch and Other Branches of "Pu" Theory

评述了代表清世乾嘉朴学三个发展阶段中的徽派、吴派及扬州学派之间的关系,及各派的学术成就和贡献。肯定了徽派朴学在清世朴学发展中所起的承前启后的重要作用。

This article comments on the relationship among the branches of thought of Pu in Huizhou, Suzhou and Yangzhou, which represent respectively the three stages of the development of'Pu'theory (which studies the ancient Chinese characters and its pronunciation and meaning) in Qing Dynasty.Through the comparison of features of different branches of thought,it elaborates on and evaluates their academic achievements and contributions. In addition, it also confirms the important linking role that the branch of thought in Huizhou has played in the development of'Pu' theory.
