Based on ample figures and facts, the article analyzes the features of the economic operation of the Chinese textile machinery industry and China's import and export of textile machinery in 2004. It points out that, as China is dedicating to turn itself from a big textile producer to a competitive textile producer, the demand for textile machinery on the Chinese market will maintain a considerable high level, especially in some provinces/autonomous regions in the western part of China due to their late start.
