摘要嘉莉妹妹是德莱塞成名作《嘉莉妹妹》主人公,她不甘穷困,来到大城市实现自己的“美国梦”。通过介绍嘉莉妹妹与三个男人的关系,揭示嘉莉妹妹的性格中永不满足的一面,再一次引发读者对德莱塞自然主义人生观的思考。 Sister Carrie, the heroine in Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser, came to a big city to realize her 'American Dream' for the purpose of getting rid of poverty. This paper reveals the aspect of Carrie’s insatiable character through her relations with the other three men, which helps invoke readers’ considerations over the view of life of Dreiser’s naturalism.
