On University's Contribution to Science and Technology in America

自20世纪20年代以来,美国的科学技术一直处于世界先进水平,这与美国大学的贡献是分不开的。美国大学对科学技术的贡献表现在五个方面,即:1)大学是基础研究的主要基地;2)大学是重大科学计划(工程)的重要参与者和骨干力量;3)大学是科技创新的生力军;4)大学是高新技术产业的孵化器;5)大学是诺贝尔科学奖的摇篮。

Since 1920s,the science and technology in America have been advanced in the world,which owes to university's contribution partly. The contribution of university to science and technology in America can be manifested on five aspects as follows: university is the base of basic research;university is the important participant and backbone of key scientific projects;university is the vital contingent for scientific and technological creation;university is the incubator for high and new technology enterprises;university is the cradle of the Nobel prize for scientific achievements.
