A Study on English Teaching in Colleges and Intercultural Communication

语言与文化是紧密相连的,语言是文化的一部分,文化要通过语言来体现。外语教学的目的就是培养学生在具有不同文化背景的人们之间能够进行有效交际的能力。大学英语教学不仅要传授给学生语言的知识,更主要的是传授文化方面的知识;真正实现“使他们能用英语交流信息”的目的。

Language is closely related with culture which is not only contained in the culture,but also is the carrier of culture. The ultimate pupose of English teaching in college is to promote the students' ability to conununicate effectively with people of different cultural backgrounds. College English teachers should pass on Rowedge of language, and more importantly, the Rnowledge of culture in order to realize the purpose of for exchange information in English the students.
