The Development of Kaiming Publish House and New Literature

20世纪前半叶,在出版社林立的年代里,开明书店以其稳健的风格,出版了大量的新文学作品,为新文学的传播和发展作出了很大的贡献。开明书店以《新女性》杂志起家,在一批同人的支持下,以中学生为读者对象,逐渐发展成为现代出版史上一家负有较高声誉的出版社。夏丏尊、叶圣陶、丰子恺等人主持下的《中学生》杂志,在解放前颇负盛名。其出版的新文学刊物也大都成为现代文学史上的经典之作。

In the first half of last century, with its own moderate managing style, Kaiming, one of the famous publish houses in Shanghai, published a large number of literature books and magazines, contributing a lot to the expanding and development of the new literature. With the help from the people of common interest, Kaiming bookshop began its business with the magazine of New Woman, targeting the high school students as customers, and finally developed into a reputable publish house. The magazine Juvenile Students, which Xia Mianzun,Ye Shengtao, Feng Zikai took the main responsibility, was under distinguished fame in the thirties and forties. And other new literature magazines published by Kaiming became master pieces in modern literature history.
