现实生活中,鲁迅对猫头鹰的钟爱,在绘画与文学文本中获得了多层次的延展性呼应,从而构成了他独特的“猫头鹰情结”。其意义不仅在于充分表现了鲁迅“自在暗中看一切暗”的批判意识,还在于强烈地显示出鲁迅与黑暗捣乱的幽默精神和能飞鸣就偏要飞鸣的叛逆性格。其产生与绍兴这一“报仇雪耻之国,非藏垢纳污之地”的特殊文化传统和吴越地区的鸟图腾崇拜有着密切联系。周作人也热爱猫头鹰,但却是借替猫头鹰翻案为自己的汉奸罪行作开脱,其卑劣与鲁迅的伟大存在着天壤之别。
