Zen occupies an important position in traditional Chinese culture and the introduction of dhyana has reinforced its metaphysical features.Intellectuals often pursue a detachment from the realities and a tranquility of the mind,i.e.the aesthetical beauty of Zen state,in their literary creation.Zen state is characterized by artistic beauty,tranquil beauty,unsophisticated beauty,and ascetic beauty.Zen state can be perceived and achieved through 'awakening to truth'.As an important aspect of Chinese aesthetic state,Zen state is being developed,enriched and deepened.
