摘要
该文以吉祥语的翻译为切入口,讨论了“文化传真”不能成为翻译的惟一标准的原因,并在此基础上,提出了翻译研究应从“规范性”(perspective)走向“描述性”(descriptive)。
This paper argues that 'cultural duplication'should not be accepted as the sole criterion of translation by examining the embarrassment and vulnerability in evaluating blessing translations.The author proposes that descriptive translation studies should prevail over prescriptive translation studies.
