This paper aims to give a profound analysis and research on the literal prototype of the typical texts of Gaser based on N. Frye's theory of archetypal criticism. After the analysis the author finds that the prototype of Gaser has the distinctive connotations of primitivism, tribal consciousness, hero worship and also the differences of different editions. The thorough-going exploration of the unique connotations strongly reflect the real value of epic.
