Zhang Taiyan and Zhang Xuecheng

章太炎的“六经皆史”论与章学诚之间不存在一脉相承关系。他撰于1 90 8年的《原经》篇明驳章学诚,暗斥谭献,其中对《文史通义》的一系列论辩,显然是两种“六经皆史”论的交锋。它反映出经、史概念内涵的变动不居性,不同时期不同处境的学者对“六经皆史”说的理解并不一致,因此要注意在特定的历史脉络中分析各家相同命题下的不同含义和意图。

This paper declares that Zhang Taiyan had taken a quite different approach to the theory of “the Six Classics are all historical writings” through a comparison with the ideas of Zhang Xuecheng.In his essay Yuan Jing(1908),Zhang Taiyan refuted Zhang Xuecheng openly as well as Tan Xian secretly.And the conflict between the two views revealed in Wen Shi Tongyi shows the flexibility of the connotations of canon and history, So it calls more attention to the intentions and implications of a same subject in different contexts.
