Design and implementation of multimedia network teaching system based on SMIL

简述了同步多媒体集成语言SMIL,介绍了基于SMIL设计的一个多媒体网络教学系统的体系结构、功能和实现技术。使用所开发的系统,教师能轻松地制作出多媒体课件,实现课程的网上直播;学生能实时同步地收看教师授课的音频、视频和教师机屏幕图像信息,并可通过文字交流窗口进行实时文字交流;此外,学生在课后能随时自主点播课件。所开发的系统经在授课中试用,取得了良好效果。

After a brief introduction to the synchronized multimedia integration language (SMIL), the system structure, function and realization techniques of a multimedia networkteaching system based on SMIL design are described. With the developed system, teachers can easily create multimedia courseware and living broadcast their lecture on network, students can receive audio-video information of the teacher, screen displays of the teacher's computer. Moreover students can communicate with teacher simultaneously by text editor windows. Students canalso order courseware after class. The system developed has already been appliedto our lectures and itisworking well.
