DETERMINATION OF LOCATIONS AND MAGNITUDES OF GREAT HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKES USING ACTIVITY DATA OF MODERN SMALL SHOCKS

本文提出了两种确定历史大震位置和强度的方法,即利用现代小震活动的密集区和空区的位置和尺度来确定历史大震区的位置和震级。按照上述方法,本文讨论了21次历史大震。结果表明,由现代小震密集区和空区所确定的绝大多数历史大震的位置和震级与实际地震相一致。

This paper proposes two methods for determining locations and magnitudes of great historical earthquakes, namely locations and magnitudes of large historical earthquakes can be determined by the location and scale of concentrated regions and gaps of modern small shocks According to the above two methods, 21 great historical earthquakes are discussed here. The result shows that the locations and magnitudes of most great historical earthquakes determined by the concentrated regions and gaps of modern small shocks are consistent with those of actual earthquakes.
