Upstream industry needs to push on

作为石油工业基础的勘探开发投资虽然稳中有升,但并来受到与之重要地位相应的重视。整个世界石油工业的上游剩余生产力正处于有史以来的最低水平,勘探开发能力小于五年前,可能导致世界石油工业后继乏力。

The negative investment in upstream industry of international petroleum companies results in serious deficiency of production capacity, and the r/p ratio has dropped to the lowest level, which has affected the sustainable development of the world oil industry. Looking from the global exploitation trend, many petroleum companies change their strategy, they pay less attention on output increase, but more on those areas that investment can bring high profits. Because output ratio of the old oilfield is too big, the exploitation cost control becomes more difficult. If the upstream industry investment keeps the present status, and the global spare producing capacity is insufficient, we believe, the tense situation of global oil supply is hard to get mitigated.
