The importance of the research of hazard economics is expounded. It is pointed that reduction of hazards means economic development. The present conditions of research and main types of geohazard in coal mine are briefly introduced, and the idea is emphasized that disaster reduction in coal mine actually means economic development of coal mine. It suggests to reinforce the research of economic evaluation of coal mine geohazard from some aspects of theory, method and examples of case.
