The author points out the disparities among the uses of the idea of domestication and foreignization in translation theories, the misunderstandings resulting from them as well as the causes of this phenomenon, and further advances the ideas concerning the observing angles at domestication and foreignization, the connections between the idea of domestication and foreignization and that of content and form, as well as the idea that content can be domesticated, but form can be foreignized.
